WELCOME COACH!
The United States Tennis Association is proud to launch a website for you and all your colleagues who have dedicated yourselves to high school interscholastic tennis! You may not know that over 340,000 young men and women have participated in high school varsity tennis each of the last two years. These young people represent 10,471 boys teams and 10,714 girls teams in 2006. That means there are nearly 19,000 coaches around the U.S. doing just what you do.

In the spring of 2006 the USTA launched the No-Cut Coach Recognition Initiative to recognize coaches who implement a no-cut policy and make a positive impact on the game of tennis. Nearly 1,800 coaches who work with more than 63,000 players have been recognized since the start of the program.

Our aim is to provide you with up-to-date knowledge that is based on the science of sport, tested by experienced coaches and judged to be the best advice we can provide. We've enlisted the aid of experienced coaches at various levels to provide the benefit of their experience and we'll also refer the more scientific issues to those who shine in that field.

The interactive part of this website is the Coaches Mailbag! We hope you'll send your questions and quandries to the mailbag, and we'll get the experts to give their best advice back on the website.

If you're hoping to build a tennis dynasty in your town, or even just a darn good team...we've got the answer. Check out the description of USA School Tennis and USTA Jr. Team Tennis. Get kids in your community introduced to tennis in school and playing team tennis afterschool. By the time they're set for high school, you'll have enough savvy players to field multiple teams!

Audio, video, animation, and graphics provide an engaging online learning experience to help coaches of youth and beginning adult tennis players understand their coaching responsibilities, provide a safe environment and respond to injuries, detect and correct stroke errors, and teach doubles and singles tennis tactics using the games approach method of instruction. Get in-depth training that fits your schedule with the Coaching Youth Tennis online course and see immediate on-court results!
